                                                                                                                                                                                                     While the decade of the 90’s was, in the mental health community, the “coming out of the closet” for them in terms of removing the negative stigma of psychiatric disorders in the public’s eye and attempt to gain ground in the understanding of these disorders. This first decade of the 21st century has found our society trying to undo the gains seen and even add more hurdles to treatment. Evidence can easily be found with the rewrite of F329 from our government whereby medications used to treat behaviors, which have always been singled out as to be treated differently from medications which treat other disease states, now have to be scrutinized to degrees which surpass even what the American Psychiatric Association professes in their practice guidelines.
